Braves vs Rangers
13 - 7

Yesterday was the match up the team had eagerly waited for against the Rangers who 'were' at the top. They lost their first meeting with the Braves! Hoorah! The Barves got an early lead in the first inning scoring three and an even greater lead in the second. That second inning my son led off at bat and got his second hit which was a single to start the second. The next two batters were walked and then my son was singled home to score. Great job!

Joshua also made his first big hit in the game which was a 2 run homer over the left centerfield fence! The Braves were pounding their rivals 13 - 3 before they started taking advantage of Anthony who was tiring on the mound, but also due to a few misplayed balls. Defensively the Braves did rather well, better than the Rangers did, but excelled in hitting and patience at the plate with a struggling Rangers pitching staff.

My boy made two errors by missing his cutoff man while fielding the ball and also let one run between his legs that he had to go and chase almost to the fence. He struck on a 2-2 count chasing a high pitch also. All in all he did rather well and made contact for a single yesterday.

Braves vs Angels
12 - 1

Another great game for the Braves! They smoked the Angels today in a 12 to 1 slaughter. Tony held the opposition without a hit for three innings giving up only a walk. My boy made me proud and made two hits in both of his at bats. The first he made an in field pop out and the second was another infield pop where he reached base. He eventually rounded the bases and scored.

El Rio Little League
Braves vs Mets
12 - 0

My son's team the Braves won their second game of the Little League season twelve to nothing against the Mets. This gives the team a 2 - 0 record after winning their Opening Day Game last Saturday 7 - 2 vs the Giants.

I'm one happy cat and I kinda felt sorry for the opposition, but the other team had fun and did put their best effort into it today. Their downfall inevitably being pitching having walked so many batters in the fist two innnings of the game. They should have had their #2 pitcher start instead as he was hitting the strike zone much better than their starter.

My son Seth had two at bats this game. He was walked in his first at bat with four straight balls being pitched to him. While on first a wild pitch advanced him to second without a throw. He then scored after the pitcher walked the batter with the bases loaded. His next at bat he struck out looking unfortunately.

All the kids had fun and now expect to play against the Giants once again this coming Saturday afternoon.
